Total War Three Kingdoms is now available on PC on Steam. it will be the twelfth installment in the main series and takes place in China in 190 AD during the collapse of the Han Dynasty.

The new iteration of the game has been created by Developer Creative Assembly, Feral Interactive and Publisher Sega where you will need take control of Warlords to form alliances, conquer lands, build wealth, and defeat enemies.

When the Wargaming.net Game Center has been installed, select the 'All Games' tab, and then select the 'Total War: ARENA' icon to begin installing the game. When the game has finished installing, click 'PLAY' on the Total War: ARENA tab in the Wargaming.net Game Center, sign in using your Wargaming.net account, and prepare to lay waste to the battlefield!

Fix For Game Not Starting, Not Loading, Not Launching

There have been several reports that the game is not starting and is crashing at the launch. this problem is occurring because of the game’s launcher settings. below you will find methods on how to fix the issue and launch the game

The First Way could be because of your antivirus or the windows defender. the antivirus might be detecting the launcher file as a virus. to fix this issue you can either disable your anti-virus and launch the game or make an exception for that file and then launch the game.

The Second Way is testing the game compatibility. so just go to the following path

Steam library> right-click total war three kingdoms> Go to properties> Go to local files> Browse local files> Right click Three_kingdoms.exe.

Then go to the compatibility tab and tick the “Run this program as an administrator”. now press Apply and start the game.

The third method you can use to fix the issue is

First press windows key + R
Then type “%appdata%” and press enter
Now go to The Creative Assembly folder
Then delete the “Launcher” folder
Finally, reload the Launcher to generate new files for the game to start

Black Screen And Input Signal Problem

The first step you can use to fix the issue is by updating your Graphics driver to the latest version. if you are using the latest version and it is still not working. then you should try installing the older version of the graphics card and try running the game.

First press Windows Key + R
Then type “%appdata%” and press enter
Then go to following path Roaming> the Creative Assembly > 3K > scripts > preferenc.txt
Open the preferenc.txt and change the resolution to the monitor supported resolution.

Fix For Low FPS And Stuttering Screen

To fix this issue make sure that you are using the latest Graphics drivers. then go to the Nvidia control panel, click on Manage 3D settings, then select Program settings.

Here you will need to Set the Power Management mode to “Prefer Maximum Performance”. also change the Texture Filtering Quality to “High Performance”.

Fix For Blurry Graphics

Most of the players have been reporting of having Blurry Graphics error. but this is not really an error. you can fix this issue by disabling the “Depth Of Field” from the advanced video settings.

Fix For Disk Write Error

If you are facing this issue then most likely your Hardrive has bad sectors. you can fix this issue by Defragging the bad sectors by using the Windows Defrag program.

If the above method does not work then right click on Steam.exe and select the properties. then go to the compatibility tab and tick the option of “Run this program as an administrator”. apply the changes and start the game this should fix the issue.

Europa Barbarorum:

Europa Barbarorum is a total conversion modification. The modification affects all areas of RTW; all vanilla units have been removed, all new models and textures, a new economic system, new traits system, new scripts, and in general new gameplay. No area of RTW is left untouched.

Roma Surrectum:

Roma Surrectum 2 is a full conversion mod to Rome Total war 1.5 and the predecessor to the original Roma Surrectum mod featuring unique Roman legions, new factions, units and a stunning high detailed map. Roma Surrectum 2 is developed for Rome Total war, but it will also run on both of its expansions, Barbarian invasion and Alexander.

Issues fixed[edit]

mss32.dll was not found[edit]

You have installed Rome Total War on a 64-bit system, but there is a bug in the installer which installs the game files in the wrong location by default. The incorrect default location is C:Program Files; the correct location to install these files is C:Program Files (x86). To fix this uninstall Rome Total War and all its expansions and patches, then freshly install the game again, making sure to installer selects 'C:Program Files (x86)' to install the game to. Warning: uninstalling the game and its expansions and patches will delete any saved games, the save game data folders should be copied to another destination and replaced after the fresh install.

Failed to find Steam[edit]

This issue is common with the Steam version of the game, with the error window appearing when attempting to launch either Rome: Total War or the expansion Barbarian Invasion.

Copy Steam.dll^{[citation needed]}

Copy steam.dll from the main Steam folder into the Rome installation folder. This is a fix that most likely will fix your problem.

disable Steam Community In-Game^{[citation needed]}

To do this, go to the games library, right-click 'Rome: Total War Gold Edition',
Select 'Properties' and uncheck 'Enable Steam Community In-Game'.

Delete ClientRegistry.blob^{[citation needed]}

Exit Steam and go to the Steam installation folder.
Locate the file ClientRegistry.blob and delete it, before relaunching Steam.
Steam will then update before launching and the game should run.

Notes

Deleting ClientRegistry.blob results in those settings being lost and this is not a permanent fix.

Run as administrator^{[citation needed]}

If neither of these methods work or if you are getting a 'Steam failed to start' message, exit Steam then right-click the Steam shortcut and choose Run as administrator.^{[citation needed]}
