Not sure if this is a pc issue or a windows issue, but it happened while trying to update to windows 10.
Windows 10 Local Disk D Out Of Space
I gave in and started the upgrade process. It started downloading, and I was like this is going to take forever. So I went to play a game. I started up steam and noticed pretty much all of my games now said they weren't installed. Most of them were on my local disk (D).
So I open up file explorer to look at my them. The OS (C) says its has 106gb free of 372gb which is what it normally says. But the local disk(D) now doesn't say anything underneath it. It used to be something similar to the other. And when I click on it everything freezes.
So I restarted my laptop hoping it was just a visual bug. But no it wasn't. So then I tried letting it go through the windows 10 process again. It did the download and went to do the install. said it was 44% complete and 32% on the installing features and drivers. But it froze there for several hours. So I shut it down and it reverted itself back to 8.1.
Now everything is still slow and the drive still says nothing below it. I ran diskmgmt.msc and it says (D) is still there and healthy with 537.60 out of 537.60 free. Which from my point of view does not look good. Because that means ALL of my games, movies, pictures are gone. Dungeons 3 evil of the caribbean.
Now I have no idea what to do.
TLDR; Pretty sure attempting to upgrade to windows 10 wiped my local disk(D)
UPDATE Pulled out the hdd plugged it into the usb cable thing I have. Plugged it into my dads pc. It showed the 5 partitions, System - Recovery - OS - Local Disk - Restore and their various letters. All of them but the local disk show spaces used bar. So its the same as when my pc was working. That partition is not able to be read.
