Once you start DosBox again, you should see the following lines appear. You should also verify the two images have mounted correctly by seeing that drive 0 was mounted as WIN98C.img (also known as the A: drive) and drive 2 is mounted as your hard drive image (also known as the C: drive). I'm having trouble booting a HDD image with DosBox. I've only gotten either read errors, or boot failures. The HDD image is a verified working FreeDOS installation, created with qemu-img. The image has been formatted FAT32, and it's working as expected with QEMU. The Image is only 1G in size, and is a flat raw image. Windows 7: HELP! Format a 3TB External HDD to FAT32. IMG /IMG I have to be honest, I read the linked thread about gparted and it made my head spin. I don't understand any of it. Is there a simple way to get my other TB back or should I just cut my losses and use this as a 2TB drive?? Didn't the drive come out of the.

I only use the C drive for the OS and programs. I use my D drive for data (eg, Dropbox and Onedrive files). If I install my programs on my HDD (my D drive) instead of my D drive (my SSD), will they run as quickly?

How do I move my 'temp' folders? Not sure what you're talking about.

I still think it's outrageous that Microsoft created an unusable partition instead of just deleting my system files, like it said it would. There HAS to be a fix for that!!!!!

Hi,

When you load or start a program, that program is loaded into ram by exe file. Once Program is loaded into ram it depend on the amount of ram available or limited to use by addressing of program. Using the speed of SSD read/write and ram together makes the programs run fast. That Why increasing ram helps when using a regular Hard Drive. The Speed of the Hard Drive used with SSD also a factor.

Did you add the SSD to PC after the hard drive was installed? I always configure SSD as disk 0 and add Hard drive after OS is installed. See SSD setup below.

In Windows 7/8 'temp' folder was moved or redirected using System Properties Environment Variables. Create a new folder called temp on Hard Drive and redirect TEMP and TMP. Might have problem doing this with programs already installed. This should be done before programs are installed. In your case do not worry about Temp file.

In your case the 10.93GB unallocated space is large it should be in MB. Did you specify a C: size for disk 0 when OS was setup? When installing the OS the partitions for disk 0 should use all of hard drive space. I think if you specify a size with a small size left unallocated it will auto create that partition so another drive could be created. Min partition size for drive is around 12gb.

Research helps. Youtube has many good video's on SSD config and how it works!!!!
